Button Christmas Ornaments

Hi, I’m Donni Webber, a writer of my own DIY blog. When Dianne Weller, owner of ChristmasOrnaments.com contacted me to see if I’d be interested in creating some special Christmas ornament DIY projects for her, I was delighted and jumped at the chance to write for this wonderful site that’s full of unique and decorative Christmas Ornaments. Today I want to show you how easy it is for you to make button Christmas ornaments.

Do you have lots of old buttons lying around? If so, this is the Christmas project for you… a button Christmas Ornament!

The supplies we needed:

  • buttons (found online or at Michaels or Joann’s)
  • bendable cotton wire (found at your local hardware store)
  • wire cutters
  • Christmas ribbon

Time to make : 5 minutes

Cut off about 12 inches of wire. Thread your buttons onto the wire.

When you have threaded enough buttons onto the wire, bend it into a circle and connect the ends of the wire together.

Trim the ends of the wire, leaving one end long enough to bend into a hook for hanging onto the tree.

Tie a pretty Christmas ribbon into a bow and Voila… a pretty button ornament!

What fun we are having crafting handmade Button Christmas ornaments!
Blessings and magic,
