vanilla ice cream

”I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!”   Vanilla ice cream that is! July 23rd is Vanilla Ice Cream Day. In 1984 President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by 90 percent of the nation’s population. President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.” I like to observe with my ceremony of eating a small bowl of ice cream after dinner!

Celebrate Vanilla Ice Cream Day

While I am traveling I like to discover new ice cream shops! One of my favorite ice cream places to visit while in Hilton Head, South Carolina is the Frozen Moo. It is the most popular ice cream shop on the island. If you ever do travel to Hilton Head, be sure to stop in there with the family! They serve over 90 flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt and sherbet. I wonder if they sell a lot of vanilla ice cream on July 23rd. Do you have a favorite ice cream shop where you live? Please share it with us!
