Hi, I’m Donni Webber, a writer of my own DIY blog. When Dianne Weller, owner of ChristmasOrnaments.com contacted me to see if I’d be interested in creating some special Christmas ornament DIY projects for her, I was delighted and jumped at the chance to write for this wonderful site that’s full of unique and decorative Christmas Ornaments. Today, in celebration of winter, we’re going to make snowball Christmas ornaments!

The supplies we needed to make snowball Christmas ornaments:

  • fluffy white yarn (found online or at Michaels or Joann’s)
  • scissors
  • pins
  • Christmas ribbon

Time to make : 10 minutes

Snowball Christmas Ornament

Finding fluffy yarn is a must for this project. Specialty yarn stores and craft stores have wonderful white yarn to choose from… the fluffier, the better.

Step 2

Tie a piece of Christmas ribbon into a loop and knot it. Trim off the ends to leave a small tail on either side.

Step 3

Make your ribbon loop do the splits over the styrofoam ball and secure the tails with pins. These pins will hold the hanging loop in place.

Step 4

Now begin by wrapping the fluffy white yarn around the circumference of the styrofoam ball.

Step 5

Around and around and around, until the whole ball is covered in wonderful white fluff.

Step 6
Step 7

When your whole ball is covered in the white yarn, tie a small slipknot into the end of the yarn.

Step 8

Use a white pin to pierce through the knot to keep the end of the yarn secured to the ball.

Step 9

Tie a bow from your Christmas ribbon and Voila!!! A beautiful snowball Christmas ornament.

Step 10

It looks so pretty hanging on our tree and makes us wish we could wake up on Christmas morning to a White Christmas and see reindeer hoof-prints in the snow.

Step 11

What fun we are having crafting handmade Christmas ornaments, especially snowball Christmas Ornaments like these, which make a neat decoration idea for Christmas or winter-time.

Blessings and magic,
