Known for inventing the shiny glass ball ornament and tinsel, Germany has a valuable history steeped in Christmas traditions. Glass blowing and glass making was for accomplished artisans as a practice that dates back as early as the 12th century in the town of Lauscha. By 1847, molds were being used to form the glass into the shapes of fruits and nuts and the exporting of these treasures began.
